We track many metrics. Revenue. Churn. Velocity. But there is one metric we watch with obsessive care. It is the number of formal HR complaints filed by our team.
That number is zero.
This sounds impossible. It sounds like a lie. Or worse, it sounds like a culture of silence where people are afraid to speak. We assure you, it is neither.
1. The "Adults in the Room" Policy
Most HR complaints stem from childish behavior. Petty squabbles. Passive aggression. Misunderstandings that fester. We refuse to tolerate this. We hire adults. We expect them to act like adults. If you have an issue with someone, you speak to them. You resolve it. You move on.
We do not babysit. We do not mediate playground fights. We provide the tools for conflict resolution, and we expect our team to use them.
2. Radical Transparency (The Good Kind)
Secrets breed resentment. We keep zero secrets. We share the financials. We share the strategy. We share the bad news as quickly as the good news. When everyone knows the score, there is less room for rumor. There is less room for suspicion.
Trust is the antidote to bureaucracy. When you trust your team, you need fewer rules. You need fewer forms. You need less HR.
We want to keep this number at zero. Not by silencing dissent, but by addressing it so early that it never needs a form.
